What We Do
We asked some key leaders what they feel our neighbourhood group does and these are the things that YOUR community members came up with:
- emergency needs, practical needs shelf and immediate family crisis support
- summer camp
- encourages families to get together for family night
- play group for day care community
- create a positive environments for all community members to be themselves
- clothing exchange for families in need
- making memories and friendships
- training for teens: programs for younger community members to develop independence in a leadership role and potential job experience (LIT and babysitting)
- instructional programs for youth and children
- resources and support for low income families
- community garden for everyone
- partner with North End Harvest Market
- resource support to teachers
- volunteers from many areas investing in this one
- leaders on team who are a strong resource
- opportunities for socialization among parents, caregivers and their children
- support community initiatives
- a way to help out in community, give back and help others
As dreamed up by YOUR community members:
We would like to offer more programs that we can offer to more age groups, do more outreach to have a more diverse gathering of families, see more involvement from other and new community members, see a Collective Kitchen, DIY classes, programs and activities for families without children and more communication within our community.
